Les tubes de chaudière haute pression sont utilisés dans des conditions de température et de pression élevées. Les tubes en acier sont sujets à l'oxydation et à la corrosion sous l'action des gaz de combustion à haute température et de la vapeur d'eau. Le tube en acier doit avoir une résistance élevée, une résistance à la corrosion élevée à l'oxydation et une bonne stabilité.
